Professor Joshua Burns

Dr. Joshua Burns is the Jeweler’s Charity Fund Endowed Chair and Director of the Disability Prevention Program at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, USA, where he leads a translational research program focused on precision measurement and personalized healthcare for pediatric patients with neurologic diseases and survivors of childhood cancer. His work integrates clinical neuroscience and cancer epidemiology to advance early detection, optimize functional outcomes, and prevent long-term disability. Prior to his appointment at St. Jude in 2024, Dr. Burns served as Dean of the School of Health Sciences at the University of Sydney, Australia, where he provided strategic leadership in research and education.
