MDA Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Grant Program

If you are living with CMT and need help accessing essential mobility and daily living equipment, the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) offers a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Grant Program that may be able to help.

This program helps people living with neuromuscular diseases including CMT  access essential equipment that supports greater independence, safety, and everyday mobility at home, in school, at work, and at play. Equipment covered includes mobility aids, lift chairs, and other durable medical items that improve quality of life.

Who Is Eligible?

To qualify, you or your loved one must have been diagnosed by a physician with a neuromuscular disease covered under MDA’s program, be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, and be a registered MDA member. Membership is free and automatic when you apply.

How to Apply

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through MDA’s online grant management platform. Once in the system, you will create a username and password and complete the DME Grant application. Applications are reviewed by an assigned MDA Specialist who will keep you informed throughout the process.
